+1 go for it - there's nothing like an M3W for putting a smile on your face.
Remember there are over 1,500 out in the wild and yes, there have been problems which are highlighted on this forum. These are now pretty much all sorted and many of us undertake significant journeys and events successfully.
If your buying new or nearly new you should be OK.
For earlier cars you need to check they have the 2014 mods - Centra compensator, steering kit, urban cooling, steel rear sprocket and chassis brace. The2014 bevel box mount has had mixed reviews and BB noise is still an issue but most of us find ways to cope - earplugs, sound deadening behind the seats or drive faster/slower at the noise peaks at a specific roadspeed.
Don't fear mileage on older cars - the more miles the more any problems have been sorted out. I have over 9,00 on my late 2013 and several are now well into 20,000+ miles.
Finally, this is the right group to ask questions - someone on here will have an answer or opinion (or know someone who does!)
