I do our softtop cars twice a year autumn and spring.
Currently weapon of choice for ease of application is liquid fabric gold applied with small sheepskin radiator roller as it is very controllable and less flick off than a brush.
On a sunny day after washing and drying the roofs I can give three cars three coats each drying between each coat in just over 35-40 minutes with no masking off areas.
I always reproof regularly whether I think it's needed or not.
I used to use a smart nanotechnology liquid but that's expensive for very little volume (very good though)
If you reproof regularly the uv filters in the compounds keep the effects of the sun at bay.
