If you are set on the strap and the louvres, why not go for the aircraft inspired Dzues fasteners fitted as standard
I love the strap, it heightens the "Classic" look. The louvres would distract, IMHO..and Dzues with the strap is like wearing a belt AND suspenders... we know the strap itself is purely cosmetic, but onlookers don't.
