I should also have mentioned that when it reaches 30°C plus in the shade and you have several hours driving to do under a broiling sun not only do the side screens go on but the hood goes up and the aircon gets turned on.
I know this situation doesn't occur in the UK but if you think to tour the southern European zones in July you will bless the day you ordered aircon as an option.
I'm with Peter on this, the Air Con is effective and worth having, even with the hood down it keeps feet nicely cool and refreshed.
In the UK winter when driving hood up the Air Con and heater together de-mist the side screens and rear screen!!
