the carb can freeze if its cold enough for long enough, it happened to my fiat uno once on the downhill side of saddleworth moor on the M62, it just died and I had to coast to the hard shoulder. once stationary it all warmed through and off i went as if nothing had happened.
This is the one thing that has concerned me with the K+N filter set up, if someone comes along and advised how this can be avoided I will be all ears too!
