I too have problems grounding the gearbox cross-member of my +8 on the lip of my garage so I can sympathise with your predicament.

You have certainly solved one issue with the higher profile tyres but just a couple of check points which you have probably already considered:

1 Check that the higher profile tyre does not found the wing on full lock "inwards" on both sides. This could lead to an MoT fail.

2 The difference in diameter I make 19mm , or 3.1% , this means that your speedo is now going to reading approx. 3% SLOW. I would take the car out on a straight piece of road with no buildings nearby, run it at a constant speed and compare the speedo reading with a GPS. You then make marks on the speedo where the true speed is for the crucial limits (30,40,50,60,70) . It is then up to you to remember this.
