Not quite that laid back! On a more serious note, I doubt if the current head restraints would actually restrain and prevent whiplash. By the time the head had moved back to contact it, the damage would have been done.
That might be true of a lot of cars. I presume there will be some legislation regarding their positioning? What about integral racing seats?
