On a visit to daughter and son-in-law I was given the really tough (twist my arm) task of ferrying this WW2 vet from their workshop to its owner following a session of maintenance. MT108 rolled out of the Rearsby workshops as a MkIV in time to be part of the D Day landings and then served through most of the rest of the war. It came to Australia in the 50's and has had a civilian life since. Lovely to fly and a big privilege to to deliver it to a very happy owner. Spitfires and Lancs are wonderful but the humble Auster did its bit too. cheers
