We installed in the early 80s a pressure jet cutter using veg oil to cut crunchie bars to shape (or at least the foamed sugar core). Before that the bars were cut from blocks with a band saw that caused a lot of waste. This waste was then used by Cadbury in Keynsham as Crunchie rework syrup once redisolved in sugar.

The new system meant far less waste so less CRS. The CRS had a strong flavor so we had then to create CRS to feed all the other lines like Turkish delight
