You should see anything up to 4 bar from cold. As the oil heats up it will fall to around 2 bar running and 1 bar, or a bit less at idle. Give or take.

Isn't it strange that Mondeo man will happily drive thousands of trouble free miles without a thought on oil pressure, yet once we have a pressure gauge, we start to worry!
...Entirely agree. Same goes for coolant temperature - I don't need numbers, just a half-dial with a small blue bit on the left, a small red bit on the right and a big black "normal" bit in the middle. Just like real cars
