When I bought My '61 DHC it had a Fiat Twin Cam and a 3 spd GM Automatic. On My initial trip from Southern California, up the Pacific Coast, it was a delight, until I had to pull a very long hill on the California/Oregon border. I shifted to 2nd gear and to maintain 50 MPH the RPM was at 7,000 (or about). It was a long grind for sure. The Fiat Twin Cam handled it OK but the Driver did not.
