Louder exhaust is not a bad idea. I'll do some digging around for some alternatives.
You can get louder exhausts cheaply by using a 38mm hole saw on the front exhaust baffles. You will need 300mm x2 extensions to reach them. You will find better running as it frees the engine up somewhat & cooler running. Its not much louder at steady speed.
