Tim. I am not so upset that I had to pay for it. I am upset that the same model of car in the UK comes with it fitted as standard. They have succumbed a little to owner pressure and have made the most recent map update free of charge.

This alone goes to show the value of forums. Given that most of these things are just software that JLR has already paid for it is a bit taking the p*ss that non Uk customers have to pay extra but even more anoying that the software can not be updated to provide the missing services. I can't believe that they have so many different in car entertainment systems on the shelf. They must be essentially the same and just be programed when the car is built, so why can't it be upgraded at the dealer, post delivery??? VW can do it so why not JLR. Further more these days VW comes with App Connect as standard or as a no cost option on promotion!
