What, all the empirical data is based on bad science? That's an extraordinary claim. Care to back it up with some extraordinary evidence?
Don't forget that Peter is a scientist. From personal experience I know that you can make data and statistics mean whatever you want and also don't forget that the last two centuries is less than the blink of an eye in the lifespan of the earth and the blink of an eye timewise is hardly a realistic time frame to collect data
