I have a 2010 Roadster Sport.which I bought last November from BHM. Apparently if you move the air intake from behind the rad and extend it over the rad ( look for a plastic upright lip and remove it ) you will gain 12bhp. I have this on good authority from one of our own and confirmed by BHM. My Sport is just beginning to free up now at approaching 10000 miles.

It seems that the air stream bypasses the grille in its upper area.


that may be all true but it made a significant change for the better to remove this flexible plastic barrier located above the radiator. Perhaps it is enough done in this way to open the window to cooler air and the NA engine has enough power to suck it in.
