err, because there is, there will be, and it isn't?

All the so-called analyses of environmental impact that I've seen compare the total lifetime cost of EVS and battery industries with just the impact of IC vehicles, conveniently ignoring the catastrophic impact of the oil exploration extraction, and refinement industry. You can't moan that lithium mining damages the environment whilst ignoring the damage being done by the oil industry in places like Azerbijan or Nigeria or practically anywhere else that oil is extracted.

But I think FoxT's quite right, the current swing from diesels to EVs is primarily driven by a need to improve the appalling air quality in our cities, and it seems entirely sensible to me also.
