It would be good if it was water proof for swimming and needs to measure heart rate , calories expended, steps taken, floors climbed etc. But then I guess all of them do that.

Any recommendations?

Well Howard, having spent a year trying to get control of the effects of drugs on me prescribed for Heart Attack aftercare and effectively been unable to do much real physical exercise apart from sedentary dog walks I had become rather unfit. However recently my medical condition has much improved due to changes in medicine and I have started proper exercise. A minimum of 2 sessions a week at the local gym lasting 1.5 to 2 hours, a 60/40 mix of aerobic exercise on machines, weights/stretches, burning around 500-600 Calories and getting a proper sweet on. Once a week a Pliates class to get more flexibility, and I get on my push bike for local trips of 5 miles or so.

The above was recommended by my Heart Consultant, my aim is to be fit enough for a skiing holiday in Canada in Feb. Since early September I have seen a dramatic improvement with my stamina greatly increase and muscle tone slowly coming back. I plan to continue with the exercise after the holiday.

By the way a Fitness watch won't get you fit, it will only tell you how much you are doing and what you heart rate is when you do some exercise. smile
