That was exactly the stance I took with mine. My 4/4 is a late 2000 car and when I acquired it had done only minimal miles so I wanted to have a 'clean sheet'
I did the tensioner and guide pulleya at the same time but we took a good look at the WP and that looked fine ( On the other hand, I suppose with my OCD tendencies, I could have changed that while it was apart
Sorry if I was confusing by referring to 'auxiliary belt' - I just meant the alternator pulley etc belt
