. Mine had already been 'drilled' as a possible solution but the slightest amount of moisture and instruments still fog up.
In my motor cycle days, I used to rub a sliced open potato over the lens and that stopped the fogging up.
To do that to the instruments it would mean removing the complete unit and getting at the glass.
A difficult job and not for the faint hearted.
As for the species of potato I'm not sure, maybe a King Edward would do?
