My son and I took our old family car out of Sleeping Beauty's sleep on Saturday. I bought her in 1995, just a previous owner and only 37,000 km. We travelled with her and the still young children several times to Italy. She is a 1968 230 6-cylinder, now 120,000 km.

She has been standing in my mother's garage 135 km from Cologne since 2003. Now we want to reactivate her...and we go back to Italy with the grown children. In 2003 I was thinking about selling her, other cars appeared, but the children didn't want to give this car away... And today I am happy that she is still with us.

At first we just turned the engine for a good time without ignition, checked the oil and then ignited it. With some brake cleaner on the carburettor she started after 10 seconds and ran smoothly and on all cylinders.
Of course, many things have to be renewed. Starting with the brake hoses, really all liquids, water hoses, check the brake system, etc.
But it was a very nice feeling how she started. Okay, the petrol is 16 years old, but she runs silky smooth.

Right out of the garage. The beautiful blue hubcaps are removed to attach the straps.

After a carwash in front of the workshop in Cologne where the repairs will be done.
