I have spoken to Luigi Borghi about this car.
http://www.morganautomobili.it/morgan-occasione.htmlIt has so much customisation and improvements it would be impossible to list them all. The hood and tonneau cover have been modified so that you can put the hood up quickly and easily. The half tonneau cover stays in place to hide any luggage in the rear. It even has a reversing camera.
The electric handbrake apparently works exceptionally well.
He tells me that the automatic clutch is very effective but takes some getting used to. You can start the car in first gear and when you accelerate it pulls away like an automatic. When you pull up it is automatically actuated but you must remember to change in to first gear. Proably in a city like Milan, which is very flat, you could leave a Roadster in second. The original clutch pedal, in this case, is still in place and the auto clutch can be turned on and off with a switch. It works through an ECU and an electric motor which actuates the clutch. When you change gears a sensor in the gear knob actuates the system. It would be eminently suitable for someone with a disability.
Borghi suggests that a flip down cover over the clutch pedal could be used to make a footrest. In some cases the clutch pedal could be removed but he feels that it is best left in place for drivers who do not want the automatic clutch.
The original owner, who is from Rome, is very tall and the drivers seat is further back than normal so that it is really a 3 seater. Now the owner has discovered that he needs a car that can carry 4 (changed circumstances) so that is why it is on the market.
Being very much a one off a huge amount of time and expense went into the car. For someone who wants something quite exceptional and unique it no doubt represents good value for the money.
