We have all done it. Or will do it. Sometimes more than once....!
Our Roadster...backing into a tight parking spaceI went about 2" too far. Hit the railway sleepers that had been used as a wall, with the rear offside corner of the rear wheel arch.
The result?
The wing bent in, producing a bulge at the top of the wheel arch. No paint damage.
Took it to a body shop that does a lot of work on classic cars.
The elderly boss man took one look and laughed, he put his knee on the bulge, grasped the end of the wing and at the same time pulled and pushed. 30 seconds later it was all straight. £5.00 fo a 'drink" in cash!
There had always been a similar bit of damage on the off side front wing after some muppet in a carpark had grazed the wing. So I asked him if he could do that one too.
Same process, same result. He also noticed a paint scuff, which I hadn't. So he cut and polished that out. Wouldn't accept anything.
It took me agers to get over my own stupidity.
Tarka has remained undamaged, well the body has. I've grazed the Alloys on the front more than once. £75.00 for a proper re-finishing job.
