Left mine on on the '98. But, as soon as you put anything on the rack it obscures the standard "cobra's head" light. The rack fitted by Tink's previous owner (sidescreen stowage under rack) was tall enough to partly obscure the light.
The '76 doesn't have one, though it could do with a rear fog light in some conditions!
