The trick is to get a non age related number plate (6 digits - cheap as chips), they look better anyway, particularly if they are not your initials...
I said in my earlier reply that I was toying with the idea of doing just that, this discussion has inspired me to get on with it.
I've just bought an
nnn KPX plate for my 4/4, which is a 1963 Sussex registration. It should have the added advantage of letting me blag a pass for the classic car park at next year's Goodwood Revival.
(Several decades ago I worked in the audit department of the council in Chichester. My boss there had an Austin Cambridge with the registration
1 NPO, which he had got by the simple expedient of wandering down the corridor to the registration department and asking for something interesting! If only it was that easy now.)
