Tinkering with the Roadster yesterday and a had the chance to measure the later version of the alloy tank the factory fit
I cubed it up (deducting the chamfer to the rear edge) and got 90 lts, that's over 19 gallons ! way over what I expected and what the MMC quote
Even though you'll never fill it to brim full with the airlocks, it gives a useful boost to range - although the 90 odd kg of weight is a lot to lug around
As someone who makes an awful lot of Morgan fuel tanks, you can’t fit a 90 ltr tank in without modifying the wood for the spare wheel support
90 ltrs pretty much fills the volume of the body behind the rear axle
I did make a one off stainless steel tank that size for the factory for a customer who wanted to long distance tour in his new Baby Doll
Stock tank is about 55 ltrs and I don’t think the factory will have changed it
