A nip with pliers has worked for me for over 10K miles since mine worked loose, but not with those symptoms or I would have responded earlier !
I dont like glueing metal parts together, call me old fashioned but it feels like a bodge - and in this case doesnt the locktite work as an insulator and reduce the spark ?
As long as it works I guess !
