I Am new to Morgan ownership, I have just got an 1981 plus 8. It is in need of much ric, including paint. Just wondered if the colours are original?. It has a silver TUB and burgundy wings
The only way to tell would be to have a look at the overspray inside the door locks and under the upholstery. Morgan have always provided an extensive range of colours to purchasers, and the usual criteria of what is 'standard' and 'original' don't really apply to Morgans.
In Peter Morgan's time, the cars were always seen as being a starting point for the owner to work on rather than a fully-finished product, and as John Worral noted in his book 'Original Morgan', no-one would be cruel enough to restore a Morgan to the condition it was when it left the factory
