JOB DONE! Once I got all of the trim out of the foot wells, I took the opportunity to scrape, prime & paint the metal areas where the factory powder paint had detached from the bulkhead (Pre-stainless bulkhead - so ‘thin’ mild steel), which was useful.

Next, cut and apply sticky-back insulating material on every visible surface...at this point, the foot wells resembled the inside of a space capsule - shiny silver foil everywhere.

Then it was a simple case of re-sticking the original carpet pieces (Of course, some of them were now too big, due to the addition of the 10mm insulation on each side’ so a little trimming was needed).

Road test with SWMBO proved successful. Gold stars all round!!!!!!

PS - whilst I had the gearbox tunnel cover off, I applied insulation to both sides; as well as making up a foam trim for the handbrake lever, reducing hot air leakage. And finally, stuffing more foam inside the gear-lever gaiter helps keep that leakage to a minimum, too.

SORRY - No photos!
