Yes, it's why I asked the question. I wasn't quite sure if it was the son who was being denied, or both father AND son.

If the policyholder (the OP) has been refused his own insurance, then this is going to be a major headache.

A friend's son was recently refused insurance, which, as you say, has to be declared. He is now off the road as he cannot find anyone to cover him.
