Hi Bob,
why not take your Motorhome to an industrial estate on a sunday morning? Plenty of corners to reverse around,and no traffic.
Castle Douglas has a nice municipal site near a lake and a short walk to town.
There is an excellent micro brewery in the town.
That is exactly what I did with mine. Getting used to a 24' "box" takes a bit of time but with good mirrors you soon get used to it. The Memsahib used to take ours shopping as she could put frozen items in the 'fridge until she got home.
