WELL - Had a chance to fit and use our snow-socks today.
Quick and easy to fit (they are a tight fit - but that is what you want), and easier to take off.
My wife, who usually manages to spin the wheels on anything but bone dry surfaces (and hates the sensation, and becomes nervous by it), drove around our roads which are covered in 2 -3 inches of snow and returned with a smile on her face. A real result.
