I love the rubber sucker solution! I bought a couple of bonnet props from a breakers for a couple of quid, and then glued a piece of rubber hose onto the end of each to locate each prop to one of the bonnet catch bolts. They're then secured with elastic bands which my postman is always dropping on the drive.
