After a bit of searching, comparing cars for sale, and contemplating buying new, my partner Jane and I bought a two year old MTW privately on Wednesday, which had just 470 miles on the clock. We picked it up near Nantwich on Thursday, drove over to Bala via a bit of the Evo triangle, spent the night in a rather good restaurant with rooms, then drove from Bala to Ystrad Mynach in South Wales on Friday, via the Mountain Road over the Black Mountains among other lovely roads.
We had a bit of drizzle for the first hour or two, and some strong winds, but heated seats and helmets with visors kept us warm enough between tea, coffee and bacon sandwich stops.
Then a great night at Jane's father's house, before driving back to Worcester via the Brecon Beacons, Hay on Wye and Leominster.
The car now has 820 miles on the clock, never missed a beat, and only the cover on the petrol filler came undone (but was easy to fix).
What a wonderful trip - my fourth Morgan, and the best yet. And, the icing on the cake, Jane enjoyed it as much as me. She drove at least half the time - it's going to be a problem getting time behind the wheel from now on.
I'll try and post some photos shortly. love
