I like the kanlock straps. I think they should also work with an ortlieb 110 soft bag. Great tipp! I am just thinking about the length.

I use 2 Kanulocks crosswise on our different boxes and suitcases. You are rigth about the length because they have steanless wires inside so they are a little bit stiff.
I fold the loose end and fasten it together with velcro tape. This Kanulock "package" looks a little bit odd so I place this "ends" under the luggage rack.
