I have been fortunate to avoid impacting items for the year I've owned the M3W. I get ribbed now and then because I wear a full-face helmet on my bikes and in the Morgan. It's simply preventative.

Recently, I spent 8 weeks in the hospital and was in a coma for the first two weeks. Why? I was run over by a big-rig just outside of Las Vegas on my way home to Utah. It chewed my Harley into little pieces and the vehicle was, literally, totaled. I was wearing a full-face helmet and a racing outfit at the time. The helmet was totaled as well. I now have a noticeable tracheotomy scar to remind me I had my heart restarted 3 times on the way to the hospital.

Now, when my friends raz me about wearing so much protection - I simply smile. For, I know now how fragile life is. I'm not going to try and convince others.

Do I still ride? Sure. And. I know the protection I wear may not be enough next time. But, what else can we do? I'm still going to do things I enjoy. If there's risk, I know the cost. And, I want my friends here to do the same in life. We all end up in the same place anyway.
