I have never heard anyone mention this in the 6+ years we've been online and therefore, my guess is that it is some padding off a part that is inside the door (a piece of trim) or perhaps was on the window from new and dropped into the cavity.
It doesn't look like the thin bits of foam they put between sheets of glass when they stack them, does it?
