I've only been driven in one MGA. It was a late series 2. I was never that interested in MGAs. This car had been properly restored. Body off, the lot. It was dark blue with a biscuit interior, and the owner took me across the Yorkshire Wolds, on a bright summers day.
It was a revelation. No scuttle shake, no rattles, crisp performance, sharp handling, lovely exhaust note.
In terms of exceeding my expectations, no other car has come close. It was amazing, in the context of its design and age.
