The logic would be that it would reduce the herd immunity threshold. All herd immunity means is that 10 infected contagious persons can on average only infect 9 or less new people because the others they meet are immne or protected.. That 9 can only then infect 8. The growth of an infection in the crudest terms is of the form y=x^n if n >1 then the number infected y growth exponentially. If n< 1 then y dies away asymptotically approaching zero.
