That is a superb example shades

Loved seeing the 'Charger' as a kid when I was growing up in Melbourne... along with the Monaro, the Torana GTR XU1 and the Ford Falcon of course!

Before the Charger I had the Torana S with the 6 cylinder engine. Actually now I think of it I had a green Holden Monaro in there somewhere too. The Torana looked just like the unmarked police XU1s that the Highway Patrol used. I had to commute from Gosford on the old Pacific Highway every day and knew it like the back of my hand. I used to love drifting on the curves and managed to wear out a set of Michelin Radials in about 6 months. In pre radar days I worked out that the Highway Patrol always cruised at a well over the speed limit to sneak up behind speeding cars, I worked out that if I went at the same speed I was reasonably "safe". I also tended to favour blue shirts (still do) and wore a tie so anyone seeing me in the rear view was not sure if it was an unmarked police car coming up behind them and usually got out of my way.

My mother always said "He's a very naughty boy!"
