There were various Biminis used along with quite inventive uses of the hood on Morgans Over America last year when we were driving through the deserts and other hot areas. I do not recall anyone suffering damage at speeds in excess of 70 mph. I just continued doing what I always do and drove with the roof down wearing suitable protection, it was hot especially in Death Valley at 115F.
