I fitted replacement leaf springs to my 4/4 sport as the originals were sagging on the right hand side and were made for a very light car. The new ones are 4 seater springs from Mulfab. and they raise the height by about 15mm but give a much smoother ride, better handling and prevents hitting the bump stop and grounding on road bumps/humps. These were paired with AVO adjustables which are on a medium setting. Much better ride and well worth the expense. The leaf springs are a pig to fit as access on the sport is very limited. Get in touch with Cain at Wolf performance about the wonderful leaf compression tool which makes fitting simpler and less dangerous than using G cramps.
I have stiffer rebound springs and hard chrome kingpins with phosphor bronze bushes & steering bearings at the front - these made an enormous difference - thanks to Spanner Juggler`s sound advice. If you`ve got the original kingpins it might be worth replacing them whilst you have the front end in bits.
As the Sport sits quite low anyway I would not suggest lowering it any more unless using on very smooth roads or for racing only. Mine has not grounded at all since raising it slightly with the replacement springs - those few mm makes a big difference.
This alone makes such a difference.
