I washed the car about 3 weeks ago, then when doing some other mucking about yesterday raised the back end in the air. This morning found a drying puddle of rusty water had come out of one of the front chassis tubes (car has been rolled forward several inches before the photo was taken). That water gets into the tubes I never doubted because of the many visible openings at tube junctures. But I was unpleasantly surprised to see it is retained there, as the car had been driven several times since being washed. I've never driven in the rain, and don't intend to do so, but those of you who do may want to take note.

So add internal chassis corrosion as another thing to deal with. Probably will add a few strategically placed weep holes and waxoyl the bejeezus out of the horizontal tubes. The things the factory didn't get right and that owners need to attend to will fill a book one day....
