Thanks for the replies. Firstly the rust is distributed all over the disc not just where the pads have contacted. I did some vigorous braking when I went out but it didn't really improve at all. I have no problem in removing the discs but as I said never on a car with wires, so I didn't know the stub axles will have to come off first. Will they need to be pulled off with a pullers? If I can't do a good job without taking the discs off I will remove them. Only question now is how bad will pads be contaminated. Anyone help with which car they are from.
Lesson learned I won't be putting it away wet again.
