Before changing the grommet, pull the motor out, examine the grommet. If you have some Captain Tolleys creeping crack cure
http://www.captaintolley.com/Apply a few drops around the grommet and in the hole, refit the motor, and let it dry for a while.
If no Capt Tolleys, try a smear of Vaseline.
