Loading up ‘stuff’ in the car today (2012 4/4 Sport) and noticed something never seen before on a Morgan. A very well made sheet of Stainless Steel has been bent and fitted over the front of the gearbox leather cover. Guessing about 10” wide and extremely well finished and fitted.

All I can think of is it’s to protect the leather alongside the clutch pedal and/or provide a smoother surface for a shoe side to slide along? There are certainly polished witness marks where a shoe would rub.

Previous owner contacted and he didn’t fit it, the car started it’s life at Williams, anyone know of this modification?
