I used to apply vinyl appliqués (panels) to new cars in the early '70s. The problem is that they would chip, peel, bubble, and deteriorate over time. Once removed (not fun) the paint could appear a different color if fading had occurred. I'd think twice about vinyl wrap, if you're thinking you'll be into your 3W for the long run and want to maintain a pristine look.
With that said, though... they really do look nice (and tempting).

Look at the many wrapped nissan gt-r's,
Their butt seems fine even after a few years
