Around 5000 before the first crack emerged. It was solidly welded just before the trip and, perhaps not surprisingly, the terminal crack developed in the Heat Affected Zone. I have experienced this before with a suspension bush.
It is to bad that this fantastic trip was marred by the M3W losing such a glaringly noisy part on the road. Did you retrieve the dead tail piece?
