The hangars not far from Porton have a couple or three new attractions.
!. We are building, from original plans, a Lancaster B1 Special cockpit. Why? Well a Lancaster flew from Boscombe Down to drop the prototype Grand Slam bomb on the bombing range in the New Forest. Over the years a slightly obsessed enthusiast collect as much as possible of the internal fixtures and fittings, including a control column signed by the pilot on that flight.
2. We have the first production Hawker/BAE Hawk, XX154, left Dunsfold the same month I received my Degree Certificate. It is in better condition than I am.
3. We are expecting, before the end of the year, the first production Panavia Tornado ZA320, presently on display at RAF Cosford.
So, every reason to visit next year!!
