Even a "continuation" is a replica. I have no problem with that as long as it is a reasonably faithful replica, or if it is declared not to be a replica but "inspired by" or "in the style of".
What I do not like is the idea that these machines be allowed to race as though they were the original classics. Modern metallurgy, enginering, machining, and treatments make the reproductions much more powerful and reliable than the originals. Examples of this are the Matchless and AJS modern race bike replicas.
If I had the money

I would love to own many replicas. I could never afford the original and there is always the big question of whether or not you can risk driving a valuable original. To be honest it is the style that interests me more and in many cases I could accept a modern reliable engine in a replica but I would never pretend it is an original.
