Mine has the hollow shaft through the lamp and that light can be seen from every angle because the video I posted was taken from the ground. From another drivers position it is clearly visible, no stalk needed. That must have been some Australian requirement that has no bear, especially if you have a rack with luggage. Luggage racks might be great for campers but I find small bags in the passgenger footwell do just fine and a credit cardf or the hotel :-)
